Oh. My. Goodness.
These cookies are so fantastically good. My mom loves Whoppers and so does my Aunt Suzy (my mom likes them to be stale though, strange?). Me, I'm merely ok on them. OK at best. So, if there happened to be a box of Whoppers in the house and I was facing down a chocolate craving, it'd be a coin toss for Whoppers or chocolate chips to fix it. I like them . . . but I don't love them. However, Whoppers in these cookies are AMAZING!!!! They're crunchy and sweet and with the chocolate chips and the chocolate batter . . . I was in chocolate bliss. Cathy from Tortfeasor (one of my very favorite blogs) recommended these cookies to me and I've been wanting to make them ever since. I kept forgetting to buy Ovaltine at the store though, so I never got around to making them. But, last week I did remember to buy it and then it was on to chocolate bliss. Incidentally, I LOVED Chocolate Ovaltine when I was little and I drank it almost every morning. But for some reason the thought of enjoying a glass now kinda grosses me out. So, I suppose the only option is to make some more of these cookies! I might need to wait though; I could hardly restrain myself around these cookies and the freezer didn't help because they're actually really good when they're frozen.

These cookies are really good. Your cookies look great, nice ans mounded. When I made them they flattened out.
Is is a good thing or a bad thing when you find a cookie you like this much?? Maybe if you make these when you're around your Mom and your aunt you'll be a bit safer - you might have to fight each other for them! And I'm like your mother; there are several things that I prefer stale, such as graham crackers and gingersnaps. But not Whoppers because I don't like malted milk at all.

I'm so glad that you loved these, Jessica - they look great!! I thought that I hated Whoppers when I first made these, and couldn't believe how much I loved these cookies. I wonder what age we have to hit for things like frozen dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets and glasses of chocolate ovaltine to no longer seem remotely appetizing to us? Oh well, at least you have a nice big tub of ovaltine to use in these cookies. Which reminds me that I have a tub of it left over from when I last made these. Maybe it's time for a rewind!
These are such a good cookie and I'm so glad you got to make them. I'm not much of a Whopper fan straight out of the box, but I loved these cookies!
I've always had good luck with Dorie's recipes. The cookies look great, and I think I'd like Whoppers better in cookies, too, than out of hand.
